“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Col 3:16
The above verse from Scripture is the model for music ministry at EFC.
Ministry means service. Therefore, music ministry simply means serving in music.
The purpose of music ministry is two-fold:
• Firstly, to sing praises to God & glorify Him; and
• Secondly, to encourage each other in our relationship with God through music.
Here at EFC, brothers and sisters in Christ recognise that the abilities to sing or play instruments are gifts from our heavenly Father. We therefore encourage members to use their musical talents to honour God by making music together for Him.
Music is an important part of worship. It is a great joy and privilege to sing praises to God as a congregation together from the bottom of our hearts; and to experience God through song and sing of the overwhelming love that Jesus Christ our Saviour has shown us at the cross. While the style of music may vary in each service, the message of the gospel prevails.
Together with other ministries, we aim to build up God’s people in maturity in Christ and share the good news of Jesus to those who do not yet know Him.
